At our camp, we use theatre games, rehearsals, and performance to teach phonics, vocabulary, grammar, and reading comprehension. The theatre is a safe place to explore emotions and forge those deep, lasting connections. Both science and experience tell you these things are stronger because of your emotional connections to them.Įmotion enhances memory and learning. Think of your strongest memories and most profound learning adventures. Parents will also have the option of continuing the tutoring during the school year for an additional fee. Our summer reading tutoring is offered at no extra cost. This year, we are instituting a special tutoring effort to further improve each child's reading skills. Due to a generous grant from the Indiana Arts Commission, we have acquired more educational tools and techniques, allowing us to customize the camp to each child's needs. No matter where a child is in her/his education, we want to give them the best chance to succeedīoth onstage and off. Every actor on our stage gets their moment to shine. We accept any child, no matter their previous training, level of acting skill, or reading ability. We are dedicated to the belief that ensemble performance builds communication, compassion, loyalty, and true leadership. In addition to our yearly productions, we feature the Page & Stage Summer Camp, in which children and youth learn and improve on vital reading skills through the art of theatre. Page & Stage Theatre is a company of theatre professionals and teachers based out of Hamilton County, Indiana. ✓ A lower cost than any other theatre camp in central Indiana. ✓ Each summer is a different experience, meaning many campers come back each year! ✓ A welcoming environment for shy children and those with "stage fright." We foster confidence, self-esteem, teamwork, leadership, and an overall love for learning. ✓ One-on-one and small group work with a dedicated teaching staff. ✓ Optional reading tutoring to prepare kids for the next school year. ✓ For emerging and early readers, phonics- and story-based learning. ✓ Curriculum built for each individual camper, whether they are with us to learn to read, become better readers, or take on more advanced literature. ✓ A program that is active, dynamic, and fun while remaining intensely educational. ✓ Essential training in acting, auditioning, voice, stag e movement, and all things theatre.
